Liam loves all of his new Star Wars figures that he got for his birthday. We do have a small problem though…Liam woke up the other night at 2:58a.m. (that is what time it was when I pried my eyes open when I heard the squeaking of his door) to play with them. I came downstairs and he had his box of figures laid out on the table ready to go. I informed him of the time and it didn’t seem to phase him. He SAID he woke up because he was hungry (I am not sure how his Star Wars figures laid out on the table were going to solve his hunger issue) so I gave him a snack and sent him back to bed.

We met with the doctor today and Colm’s surgery has been scheduled for March 14. He has three hernias-one in his abdomen and two in his scrotum. It will be outpatient surgery. He is a tough little guy.

You Are a Chocolate Chip Cookie

Traditional and conservative, most people find you comforting.

You’re friendly and easy to get to know. This makes you very popular – without even trying!

We got a call today from the Montessori and they have a spot for Colm for next year. Yippee!

I love this idea…I got it from a calendar that I think Liam got at SOR. If you start now you won’t be too far behind. Get a vase and for each day of Lent add a flower. By the time Easter rolls around you have a beautiful vase full of flowers. (Yes, some of them will die. You can either replace them or not.) You can also draw a vase on a piece of paper and have your child draw a flower each day. Another idea is to make a 2-dimensional vase out of paper and make a flower each day to put in the vase. Any way you do it you will have a bunch of flowers on Easter Sunday.

Now that the weather is above freezing and there’s not ice/snow on the ground anymore, we FINALLY have some action on our house. We drove by today and there are stakes in the ground and a SOLD sign on our lot! We’re making progress! Also, I took the boys to play at the playground in our new development and we met two of our backdoor neighbors and they both have boys that are Liam’s age. The moms also told me that there are NO GIRLS in the neighborhood…we should fit right in. 🙂

I LOVE National Pancake Day. If you go to IHOP you can get a free shortstack. (Put this on your calendar for next year. It will be on Fat Tuesday.) We fed a table of ten today for seven and some change because we ordered drinks and some sausage and bacon. The place was packed, but it was fun to get together and have pancakes for lunch.

We had the family party today. We had lasagna, salad and yummy bread and dipping sauce from Bravo (thanks, Pam!). Liam did not want a traditional cake, he wanted little cheesecake bites, so that’s what we had. They were good, too! Liam is SO into Star Wars right now. It cracks me up! He has never seen Star Wars. We have checked out a book from the library before, but that is really all of the Star Wars background he has. After this party, he has enough Star Wars stuff to keep him busy for quite some time.

FIVE Candles!

We have a new member in our family! Welcome to the world, Otto. I know your parents love you to pieces and so do your siblings, Olivia and Harrison. Okay, maybe not Harrison, but he will learn to love you in time.

Our ding dong snowplow guy shoveled all of the snow from our cul-de-sac into the bottom of our driveway. So as I was backing out this morning I got stuck in the mountain of snow he left for us. The boys were very patient as a tried reverse and then drive about a hundred different times trying to get us unstuck. I tried it while turning the wheels, I put it in various gears, all the while going absolutely nowhere. So I opened my door and realized how far up the snow really was…we weren’t going anywhere without some serious intervention. So, with kids still in the car waiting patiently, I opened up the garage, got out the shovel and started to dig. It was very cold outside, so I did as much as I thought I had to to get us out and then hopped back in the car. It took some more creative manuevering, but I did get us out-FINALLY! I was very excited because Colm had Mother Goose at the library today and Liam had a playdate after that, so our whole day was going to be shot if we were stuck at the end of our driveway. So, in my enthusiasm I said, “Yay, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus for getting us out of the snow. Yay!” To which Liam replied, “Jesus is a Rescue Hero!”. Yes, he is. I just never thought of it that way. 🙂
