There is a nasty rumor going around that we are getting a Trader Joe’s-on the Missouri side so they can sell alcohol. That would be so awesome, but I will believe it when I see it. Not too long ago there was a rumor about a Whole Foods opening closer and it never happened. I looked on the Trader Joe’s website and there was no mention of the metro on their up and coming Trader Joe’s list…like I said, I think it’s a nasty rumor.

I signed up for another year with our CSA today. It is our Saturday morning ritual during the CSA season to go and pick up all of our goodies. The boys love to go because they like to have some say in what I bring home. Every week there is a list of things that will be available that week, but when you go pick it up, there are always extra goodies you can swap for. We always swap out at least a few things and it’s usually for things like more yogurt, more milk, freshly baked pumpkin bread and other yummy locally grown/farmed/produced/baked goodies.
Colm’s class had some money left over in its budget this year, so our room mom had a really great idea of what to do with it. The teachers use a record play (yes, I said record player) for some of the circle time movement activities and the record player died. So, she bought them a new one with the leftover money that also had a CD player and a tape player. Then, since this week is teacher appreciation week, she made a CD for the teachers with each of the kids’ favorite songs on it. She sent us the list yesterday so we could see it. It is so funny to see the variety of songs. There was everything from Taylor Swift to the Backyardigans to Gene Autry.
