I have a neighbor who has a house like ours call me and ask me what we are selling our house for. They are planning on selling their house in the spring and she wanted to make sure that we are selling our house close to the same amount they are planning on selling their house for. I was a bit taken aback especially since I really don’t know her that well. Sean thought it was pretty rude as well. Is it rude though? All anyone has to do is look on-line. Right? She was just skipping that step and going straight to the source. I still think it was a little forward, but when every bit of information is on-line anyways…

Yeah, I think that’s a little rude. She could have gotten it off a flyer (if there is one) or called an agent. It sounds like she wants to make sure to price just under you to try & sell first. Have you had nibbles on yours yet? or sold?
I am constantly amazed at how rude people are and this one is right up there.

This very same thing happened to us when we sold one of our homes. The neighbor 2 streets away came to our door with the same request. When Gary told him how much he said a few words about how he had worked his whole life to buy a house like this one and that we had better get a good price on ours because it would affect his selling price in the long run. Honestly, this amazed us.
