We have no idea where the boys’ basketballs are (somewhere in storage) so I went and got them each another one. They have been pestering me to go play basketball, but I kept putting them off hoping we would find their original basketballs, but no luck. (There are several things we now have duplicates of.) We went up to the school and several of Liam’s classmates were already there playing…
The boys’ school had a very neat cultural arts night. There was art for the kids to do. There were also artists from the community who came in to demonstrate their art. It was the first time that the school’s Dale Chihuly art piece was on display…each child in the school contributed a piece of “glass” they created to the piece. The fifth graders were auctioning off some paper quilts they had made as a fundraiser (Colm won one of them) and there was a fine arts program for the children/faculty/parents with their kids to showcase their musical talents.
We found the boys’ baseball stuff in storage and now I am Colm’s baseball slave in the mornings before school. At first I could talk him into just tossing the ball around in the little park across the street from our apartment, but it wasn’t long before he wanted to hit. I had to find another park for that. There is a house too close to the other park. I am sure they would appreciate it if we didn’t break any of their windows.
