The boys went to the dentist today for a cleaning and they left with another appointment for two extractions-each! If bad teeth are genetic, then our boys are in a whole lotta trouble. Sean and I both had braces and I know I got to know both my dentist and my orthodontist very well. I am only now beginning to understand the amount of money my parents spent on my teeth. (Thanks!) Colm’s bite is so bad that I think the dentist thought I was lying when I told him that Colm never sucked his thumb or took a pacifier. Anyways, they are both getting two teeth pulled in a couple of weeks. Colm seems to think it might be something he needs to be worried about, but Liam assured him that it’s no big deal. They are just going to “help” the teeth come out. I was amazed at how sure of himself he was since he has ZERO experience in this department. We’ll see what he thinks about extractions AFTER he has actually had one.

D’s extractions yesterday weren’t too bad. The worst part was the shot. He was all about helping the tooth fairy get here faster. I did about croak when I got the $116 bill (after insurance).
They had me sign something acknowledging the amount I would have to pay…it was in the same ballpark only times two. Darn teeth!
