I have had this book for forever. I checked it out from the library and just never got around to reading it. When I did finally settle into it, I then realized that it was about time to turn it into the library, but they wouldn’t let me renew it because there were over 300 people waiting for it which made no sense to me since I had just found it sitting on the library shelf. Then I realized that in between me checking it out and trying to renew it that Freedom had been chosen as an Oprah book. I have read a LOT of Oprah books and this was probably my least favorite one. It is a 500+ page book that should have been whittled down to 300. I did like the ending, but there was this whole other aspect to the book, sort of a subplot, that took up a LOT of pages, wasn’t very interesting and took away from the main story…in my opinion.
