Never, in the history of the world, have these three figures come together all at once. They did tonight though at Liam’s school’s third grade wax museum. Each child had researched a well-known person, written a report, memorized a speech and done a few other extension projects about their person. Tonight all of the third graders filled up the gym and the cafeteria dressed as their person. They each held a pose until you came up and stepped on a rectangular button that was on the floor that they had decorated. Once you stepped on the button, they “came to life”, recited their memorized speech about their person (delivered in first person) and then went back into their pose until someone else came up and stepped on their button. We had everyone from Anne Frank, to Barack Obama to Cleopatra. It was definitely a fun-filled and educational evening for all!

While unpacking from our flood, Colm found this music box. I have had it for as long as I can remember and used to love winding it up and listening to it when I was a child. I love that Colm loves it, too, but I am also a little worried about how long it is going to make it before he breaks it.

Cursive…a newly acquired skill. L’s are his favorite letter to write in cursive.

Colm told me this week he wants to be a scientist, an inventor and a dinosaur digger. I think he’s already got one of those covered.
