We have this great window in our kitchen and I have been struggling with what exactly to do with it since we’ve lived here. I had a lightbulb moment this week…I am going to turn it into a little window herb garden. It gets lots of sun and I will have fresh herbs growing right there in my kitchen. Now I just need to find the perfect little pots.
Colm playing Taka Taka Pa Pa
(Project 365-4/17/11)
Liam playing Hunter’s Chorus (if you are really paying attention you would notice that this is the exact same song he played the last time they had a concert…that’s what he wanted to play though so his teacher let him).
We took the boys to a black belt testing today so they could see how it works and what it looks like since Liam will be testing for his black belt next fall. It was SO COOL!!! The coolest part was the older students who were second or third dan black belts. Here is a video of them using nunchucks…turn up your volume…
I got a nail in my tire and drove around entirely too long with the warning light on so I thought I’d better go get it checked out before my tire was completely flat. I took my car to Costco and I don’t know if they gave me a new tire or just patched it, but whatever they did they didn’t charge me a dime. I was super surprised and double-checked with the guy to make sure I didn’t owe him any money. He said no and sent me on my way. I skedaddled out of there before he changed his mind.
Colm was the Star Student in his class this week so I got to go and have lunch with him. I thought I would be brave and have a hot lunch. I had chicken nuggets that were kind of gross, some whole wheat breadsticks that could have used some honey and/or butter, some oranges, some applesauce and some milk. Not too bad, but I definitely won’t be getting the chicken nuggets again. Blech.
Colm really, really, really needed a new bike. He loves to ride his bike, but the only one he had was the one he has been riding since he was three. To say it was too small would be an understatement. He would still happily ride it, but he looked like he was riding a clown bike or something. We were at Target and they had one that fit him perfectly. Happy boy. 🙂
