Our worm farm is complete! It has shredded newspaper, sand, dirt, carrots (for food) and worms, of course. I must say it is pretty cool.

Our super awesome artist in residence is getting ready to wrap up her time at our school. This is what the kindy through second graders did. This is about 4ft x 5 ft. There are 11 of them and they will hang from the ceiling in the school’s main hallway. They are GORGEOUS!

Each of the first grade classrooms has their own garden. Colm’s classroom is growing radishes. Some of the other classrooms are growing herbs, sunflowers, carrots and marigolds.

These are better when you can get them straight from the shop, but getting them from the grocery store is good enough in a pinch.

We went out to eat at one of our favorite Indian restaurants and then stopped by my absolute favorite coffee shop for some dessert and a coffee. Colm and I started to put this puzzle together, but then realized it was missing pieces. We switched to chess where Colm beat me fair and square. (Note: Beating me at chess is not a difficult thing to do.)

So now that it is the last half of baseball season, Liam’s league has umps. The umpire in this picture was awesome! If you called casting in Hollywood and asked them to send you an umpire…this is who they would send. Not only did he look the part, but when he said “strike” you heard it…I think it made the kids jump the first few times until they got used to him standing behind them. He was also great with the kids and gave the coaches a hard time when they pitched dud balls.

The staff at the boys’ school hosted a very nice luncheon for all of the parent volunteers today. The theme was “Volunteers Rock”. We had some yummy food and great entertainment…the kids sang to us.
