There is a new Vietnamese place not too far from our house. Sean went by and picked up a menu and it looked like it might be worth checking out. At the end of the meal, they gave us some bamboo cuttings to take home. I love the bamboo; I did not like the restaurant.

I had been told by several people that this was a great little place to go have a great hamburger and Sean had hear about it from some people at work, so we decided to go and give it a try. They were right. It’s a neat little joint out in the country that takes cash only and does have some might tasty hamburgers.

We have a “real live” artist spending the month of May with us at our school. She will be working with each class three times during the month to create a permanent installation in our building. It will be VERY cool when it is done.

Liam’s very first science fair was this week and he did a great job! His experiment involved different sized pendulums and he was testing to see which one would swing for a longer period of time…the smaller one or the bigger one.

We have had this frig for a year and it was time to really clean it…it was getting kind of yucky plus there were some people here working on our house so I couldn’t go anywhere, so I figured I might as well make myself useful. I took everything out, washed all the drawers and shelves in the sink with hot soapy water and now everything is sparkling clean…until somebody spills something.

Colm has wanted a party at Chuck E. Cheese for YEARS, so we finally gave in and did it. It was so much fun for the kids and the staff at Chuck E. Cheese were great.

Colm in the ticket blaster…it blows tickets around and he had a certain amout of time (30 seconds?) to stuff as many of them as he could in his shirts, in his pockets, etc. He ended the day with over 1,000 tickets.

I must say, I did a pretty good job finding things to go in the goody bags for Colm’s birthday party. We had fruit leathers, chocolate chip granola bars, Zotz, Dum Dums, birthday-theme shaped Silly Bandz, sparkly bouncy balls, glow in the dark bracelets and Cars (from the movie) pencils. Also, a little birthday party tip…so your kid doesn’t have to write a zillion thank you letters after the party…have them write a “thank you for coming to my party” type of note, make copies of it, and stick them in the goody bags. You will save yourself and your child a ton of time later on and the parents will think you are a genius for coming up with the idea. 😉
