I love going through all of the boys’ schoolwork at the end of school year. You can really see how much they have grown and it’s just fun to look back at everything they have done. Colm especially loves to show off different things he has done and Liam loves to reminisce. I found this little gem of a poem amongst Liam’s papers.

We had a FANTASTIC artist in residence during the month of May and here is the final product. This is what the 3rd-5th graders worked on. It is so beautiful hanging in our library. The glass pieces hanging down are actually from another project the kids did last year. It had been hanging on long cords running horizontally across the library, but when they were thinking about what to do with them since they knew that the new installation was going to be going in right there, they decided to reconfigure them and make them “seaweed” to go along with the nautical theme. Genius!
We have had a plot at the community garden since the boys were about two years old (Liam) and just a baby (Colm). Since we were new to the area last summer, we didn’t have one and I really missed it, so I was very excited when I drove by a neighborhood park that we frequent and realized that they were putting in a BRAND NEW community garden. I jumped at the chance and we got a plot. We have carrots, tomatoes, cantaloup, watermelon and pumpkins. We were going to try and squeeze our strawberry plants in there, too, but decided to plant those at home…not enough room! 🙂
