Colm’s teacher had stressed that she really wanted him to work on his fine motor skills over the summer. So, I got out the Play-Doh today for a little fine motor work today. That lasted for a while, but Colm decided to turn it into something much more entertaining. He took the empty Play-Doh containers and a few plastic cups. He then took a Sharpie and wrote different point values on the outside of each cup and then lined them up. Next, he took a ball of Play-Doh and the goal was to get the Play-Doh in the cup by throwing it and then you’d get whatever number of points were on the cup it had landed in. This was not an easy game. We either kept knocking over the cups with the Play-Doh or the Play-Doh would bounce out of the cup. There were some modifications that needed to be made to the game to get it to actually work, but Colm had a great time with it.
