Sean is always saying how he wishes we had some chocolate chip cookies, so the boys and I thought that making him cookies would be a nice way to show him that we love him. I think the boys also thought that it would be a good idea because then there would be cookies to eat.

I love going through all of the boys’ schoolwork at the end of school year. You can really see how much they have grown and it’s just fun to look back at everything they have done. Colm especially loves to show off different things he has done and Liam loves to reminisce. I found this little gem of a poem amongst Liam’s papers.

Colm’s end of season baseball party was tonight. He had a very supportive and positive coach and a lot of friends from school on his team, so he had a great season. He is going to be moving up to the next level of baseball next year, so he will be on a different team. Go Rangers!

We had a FANTASTIC artist in residence during the month of May and here is the final product. This is what the 3rd-5th graders worked on. It is so beautiful hanging in our library. The glass pieces hanging down are actually from another project the kids did last year. It had been hanging on long cords running horizontally across the library, but when they were thinking about what to do with them since they knew that the new installation was going to be going in right there, they decided to reconfigure them and make them “seaweed” to go along with the nautical theme. Genius!

We have had a plot at the community garden since the boys were about two years old (Liam) and just a baby (Colm). Since we were new to the area last summer, we didn’t have one and I really missed it, so I was very excited when I drove by a neighborhood park that we frequent and realized that they were putting in a BRAND NEW community garden. I jumped at the chance and we got a plot. We have carrots, tomatoes, cantaloup, watermelon and pumpkins. We were going to try and squeeze our strawberry plants in there, too, but decided to plant those at home…not enough room! 🙂

This is one of Liam’s favorites…watch the whole video and you will see why. Fun!….Dang! I just realized it didn’t record the whole thing. Crimminy! Well, it’s really fun. They do this whole little dance with a big ending. I hate it when technology fails me. Boo!!!!

We had a great time at Liam’s end of season baseball party. There was TONS of yummy dishes to try and we had a kids vs. parents wiffle ball game. The weather was perfect, too. One of the moms has a friend who just started a cake decorating business so she made us this adorable cake for super cheap so she could add it to her portfolio. She also made each of the boys on the team a cake pop that looked like a baseball.

Liam is THE kid you want on your team when it comes to tug of war. He is big and he is strong.

I am so tired of this thing. It’s Colm’s footchart for violin. It is meant to help train his feet so he knows how to stand when he plays his violin. Colm has his own way of standing when he plays the violin. It is basically the exact same way she wants him to stand, but his feet aren’t PRECISELY where she has drawn the lines. It has been a source of contention. I am ready to TOSS IT OUT!
