First grade went to the zoo today and we had a great time! The weather held out for us and the kids were on their best behavior. We saw lots of interesting animals and the kids even got to have a little recess after lunch. This is Colm and his field trip buddy. I love how they are holding hands. Colm absolutely adores his little friend and he thinks it is SUPER cool that they have the same initials.

Colm bought this game with the last of his birthday money and he LOVES it! It’s made out of wood and comes with two shiny little pinball-type balls. It is a great game for him to play by himself while Liam is doing his homework. (Yes, we are STILL doing homework around here. I am hoping next week will be homework free.)
Liam’s teacher organizes two after school parties each year. In the winter the class meets for a round or two of laser tag and in the spring everyone meets after school to go roller skating. This is the second time Liam and Colm have ever gone roller skating. I would say it went better than the first time because there was a LOT less falling, but there was also still a LOT of clinging to the wall. I thought it was also very interesting that as you looked out at the skating rink the girls were zipping around having a good old time while most of the boys were doing what my boys were doing. Interesting.
This is what happens when you go through things and clear things out that you don’t need anymore…you get a more organized closet. You should have seen this before the reorg…actually I am glad you didn’t. It was a MESS. Organizing Sean’s workout clothes was the key to making this work. Now let’s see how long we can keep it this way.
A few sacks are things the boys can’t wear anymore…mostly dress pants. Why do they have so many pairs of dress pants? The shoes are mostly dress shoes, too. They don’t ever wear those out, they just outgrow them. I had a sack or two of things as well…shirts, pants, jammies…if I haven’t worn it since we’ve lived here then I’m probably not going to wear it.
