One of my favorite day trips in Oregon is Manzanita. The water was COLD today so the boys stayed clear of it. They spent hours instead throwing balls to my friend Christie’s dog, Luke, flying kites, chasing each other, getting buried in the sand and riding on the sand bike. It was a great day. Have I mentioned how much I love the beach?

The boys participated in their first track meet tonight. It was very informal. You just show up, sign up for whatever events you want to participate in and then show up at the right place on the field at the right time.
Liam did the softball throw, the long jump, the running long jump and the 50 meter dash. He placed first in the long jump.

Colm did the long jump, the 50 meter dash, the 100 meter dash and the softball throw. He got second place in the long jump, the 50 meter dash and the 100 meter dash. He said he would have gotten first, but I was “annoying him” by taking so many pictures. 🙂
Since we were on the road for most of my birthday, I got to have a special birthday dinner the next night. We went to McCormick & Schmick’s and I had a very yummy sangria lemonade with my birthday dinner.
