I am absolutely loving that Colm wants me to read The Little House on the Prairie series to him. I also love that he is so into it. He gets to caught up in the drama..the Indians, Jack almost drowning, Mr. Scott passing out in the well, the log falling on Ma’s leg and when the ox got stuck on the roof of their house…there’s just so much going on all the time. I also love that after we read the first two books and we were ready to read the third which is about Almanzo (Laura’s future husband) and not Laura that Colm decided to skip that book because he wanted to “stick with Laura”.
On a side note, I am totally impressed that Ma irons even when she doesn’t have a house yet because Pa hasn’t built her one yet and they are living in their wagon. Because let me tell you, if I was living out in the middle of nowhere in a wagon, the absolute last thing I would be doing is ironing.

If your kids play an instrument then you know that you are probably going to hear Christmas music starting around Halloween time so they have time to practice and get ready for the inevitable Christmas concert. I made this video so that we would have the bowings and then we could use it at home during practice, but the video quality isn’t too great so I’m not sure how much it’s going to help us in that department. I do love listening to the kids play their Christmas music though.
