Colm’s First Reconciliation was today. There were several priests for the children to choose from. Colm chose to go to Father Craig. Father Craig is the pastor in a neighboring parish that we frequently visit since they have a fantastic youth choir and they have Mass at night on Sundays and our church doesn’t.

Last week I went to go buy Colm his favorite waffles and for some reason they were a dollar more expensive than they normally are. There was no way I was going to pay that much for a box of waffles, so I decided to buy the generic, hoping and praying he wouldn’t notice. You see, Colm has pretty much had Eggo waffles every day for breakfast for the past four years. He knows what they taste like, smell like and look like. Any variances would be detected, but I figured it was worth a try.

I came home and put the generic waffles in the Eggo waffle box…I noticed the generics were a little bit smaller and a little bit lighter. Dang. The next morning I made him two of the generics and he ate them, no problem.

The next morning I made him two of the generics and he said the waffles this week keep getting “worser and worser”. Dang, he’s on to me. I tried again the next day and it was a no go. Luckily, for whatever reason, the Eggos are back to their regular price and all is right with the world again.

We picked up some Girl Scout cookies while we were in Kansas and we still have a few left. It’s a miracle they didn’t all get eaten in the first week. I think it might have something to do with the fact that Sean forgot we had them.

St. Nicholas stopped by in the middle of the night and left some candy in the boys’ shoes. I am so glad St. Nicholas left Christmas candy this year because last year he was totally lazy and just left them old Halloween candy.
