I really liked this book. The author (whose main source of income is as a writer for Esquire magazine) tries to follow the Bible (mostly the old testament) to the letter for a year. He ends up learning about his own faith as well as others as well. In that year he travels to the Holy Land, grows a beard, attaches tassels to his clothes, eats things he normally wouldn’t, has to buy a chair that only he can sit in, learns how to be thankful, changes his diet, has his clothes checked to make sure their kosher and the list goes on and on. Highly recommend it no matter what your religious background.
