Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

My friend Kelli told me about this book. She really liked it and thought I might like it too. Which is funny to only her and me because we never ever like the same books unless it’s written by Jodi Picoult, which this on is not. It turns out that we both liked this book, too. This book also happens to be on our state’s battle of the books list for high school students. The book is about a high school student named Hannah who has committed suicide, but before she died, she made a set of audio tapes dedicated to the 13 people who sent her down her path of destruction. She mails the tapes to the first person she talks about on the tapes with very specific directions to keep mailing them to the next person the on the list. She has even come up with a way to make sure they get passed along even though she won’t be there to make sure it happens. This would be a great book for a book club….so much to discuss.
