One of my favorite day trips in Oregon is Manzanita. The water was COLD today so the boys stayed clear of it. They spent hours instead throwing balls to my friend Christie’s dog, Luke, flying kites, chasing each other, getting buried in the sand and riding on the sand bike. It was a great day. Have I mentioned how much I love the beach?

This is a favorite picture. Playing on the beach was what we did often when we traveled when I was a young girl. We drove to a beach in Texas, California and Florida. When we did vacation it was for at least 2weeks. My dad was a doctor and so it was a big deal to close the office and take off. We always left with 2cars, one with mom and dad and the other with a set of grand parents. Someone was always sick and I managed to be in the opposite car. We once stayed in San Francisco and dad took us to eat in China town. Well, no one liked the food and a short time later mom sent him out for hambergers and fries for us. Great memories!
