On Sunday morning we went with the grandparents and Great-Grandma Virginia to a super cool place to eat. It is at a teeny tiny airport outside of Paola and the runway is right outside the diner…and when I say it is right outside I mean it is RIGHT outside. You can sit and eat your omelet and watch the airplanes come and go. Since there was a bit of a wait, Grandad took Colm outside with him to look at the airplanes. A very nice pilot who was getting ready to take off let them take a peek inside, too. It is also a really cool place because people fly in just to eat at this little place. I have no idea where they are flying in from, but I have a feeling some of them aren’t flying that far. It is a breakfast joint in the mornings and they serve BBQ for lunch and dinner. It is not a fancy place, but it doesn’t matter when you’re busy looking at the planes.
Looks like you guys need a field trip to Hutch. You could go to the Cosmosphere and then eat at the Airport Steakhouse. Yes, one of the best restaurants in town is located at the airport terminal. Who knew.
