Where Do You Keep Your Dongle?

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

I was told that I should no longer keep my dongle in the car. I should take it inside and that perhaps the reason I have been having car trouble lately is because I keep my purse in the car at night which, of course, has my dongle in it. Are you asking yourself, what in the %(*&% is a dongle? I know I was. Evidently, a dongle is the technical term for the thing that locks and unlocks the doors of your keyless entry car. I had heard the term keyfob before (which I think is another ridiculous word), but I had never heard the word dongle before and, quite frankly, the word dongle sounds a little like slang for manparts to me.

    Never knew that term.
I’m like you it stays in the car. How could it cause problems?

The car was acting like the battery was dead, so they thought maybe it was not really the battery and that maybe it was an electrical problem. They checked the electrical system and it seemed to be fine, but the battery died again even after I got a brand new battery. So, something about the “dongle” draining the battery or something. I don’t know, but I will be more than happy to be bring my purse in so I don’t have to hear that word anymore.
