The first time Colm has ever gotten to be catcher.

I got this camera for Mother’s Day. I love it, but it is a bit overwhelming. I am not sure I will ever figure out how to use it.

This is a book about real parenting stories…from the trenches. These are not stories that are all butterflies and daisies. These are for all the days you have felt like maybe you weren’t cut out to be a parent…all of these people have stories that make you realize you are not alone and that maybe you aren’t doing a half bad job…witty and entertaining and they are short stories so there’s no commitment.

Sunday-Potato and Chorizo Omelet, Watermelon, French Bread
Monday-Chicken Fiesta
Tuesday-Spinach Tortellini
Wednesday-Mandarin Orange Chicken from Trader Joe’s
Thursday-Easy Mexican Casserole
Friday-Asian Chicken Salad
Saturday-Kitchen Closed

I went and helped the kindergartners with their art literacy project today. For the month of May, the whole school is learning about Lois Mailou Jones. This project focused on warm and cool colors.

The boys are making cards for their grandmas for Mother’s Day.

I went and volunteered in Colm’s classroom today. They have been working on these flowers for their kindergarden for quite a while. I helped them paint the stems. I am fairly certain I will have green paint stains on my hands, fingers and fingernails for at least the next week.

Colm loves watermelon and I have been telling him that watermelon season is coming soon. Last weekend the watermelons seemed to be looking pretty decent so I picked one up at the grocery store. I cut one up for lunch this week and was surprised to find that I had picked up a yellow watermelon. I didn’t even know they came in yellow…apparently they do.
