Do you know what is so great about this dishwasher? It actually gets all of the dishes clean. It is fantastic. I could not STAND my highly overrated stainless steel dishwasher we had in KS. It was supposed to be super quiet. You know why it was so quiet? Because it wasn’t doing anything. Anyways, this circa-1986 dishwasher is loud AND it cleans my dishes. Hmmm….a dishwasher that actually washes the dishes. Genius! 🙂

One of the benefits of half-day kindy is that you have lots of time on your hands time to do lots of enrichment activities. Colm expressed an interested in swim lessons, so after searching high and low, I found him some. (I enrolled him on Tuesday night and swim lessons started on Wednesday morning. I had been warned that swim lessons fill up fast so I felt very lucky to have found a spot open. Granted, we weren’t able to get in at the pool closest to us.) Anyways, he has a guy for a swim teacher which he thinks is pretty cool and there are only two other kids in his class. He did a fantastic job on his first day. 🙂

I have had my eye on a certain Vera Bradley pattern for a week or two now, but just could not get myself to buy it. Those darn things are expensive!!! So, when I saw a “50% off Vera Bradley” sign outside my local Hallmark store I just had to go in and check it out. This was not the pattern I mentioned earlier, but at 50% off, I just couldn’t say no.

It was a nice, sunny day here so we decided to head to the zoo. I am so glad we went. It is a great zoo and we had a fantastic day.

Making animal footprints in the sand.

I don’t know that I have ever seen a wolf in person until today, but I will tell you that they are VERY big!!!

Feeding the lorikeets…I ended up feeding two lorikeets at the same time and one of them would not leave me alone. He crawled up onto my shoulder and started pecking at my purse. I finally had to ask a zoo worker to help me. Of course the boys thought it was hilarious. I thought it was funny too, for a little while. 🙂

We got the kids and the dog in the car and decided to head out and find a park. It was a nice day and we needed to get outside. We found a park not far from our house that was actually more like three little parks along a walking trail. The first part of the park we stopped at Liam refused to go near because of all the little mounds of dirt that were all around the playground. Can you see all the little dirt mounds in the picture? I don’t know if moles are a problem around here or what, but I would hate to have the job of the person who is in charge of making the grass at parks look nice because this particular park’s grass has been taken over my some sort of critter.
I was so excited when I found out there aren’t any Walmarts here. I just don’t like Walmart for a number of reasons. There are plenty of Targets though. You know what I didn’t think about though…because there are no Walmarts EVERYONE is at Target. There are SO MANY people at Target!! I have never seen a Target so busy and it doesn’t matter when you go either. It could be the weekend or the middle of the day on a weekday. So frustrating. That is one of the reasons why I don’t like Walmart-because they are always so busy and it’s impossible to get out of there. I still love my Target, but I just wish there weren’t so many darn people there.

The best part…passing out the Valentine’s!!!
I got to go and help with Colm’s Valentine’s Party. It was fun to see his classroom and to put some names and faces together of some of this classmates.
Where are the pics from Liam’s party you ask. Well, I went to Liam’s classroom for his party, unfortunately I was about an hour late. They had decided to have their party early so they wouldn’t miss P.E. I went to his room during Colm’s party (when I assumed his party would be), walked into his classroom, quickly realized I was the only parent there and that they were in the middle of a lesson, told Liam I was sorry I missed his party and quickly exited. That’s what happens when you have only been there for five days and are still out of the loop.
