Spring has already sprung here…

There is a TKD place across the street from our house. We went and checked it out and they have a class for kids Colm’s age. He is so excited. He CAN NOT wait. He has been watching Liam for over a year, so he is more than ready to have a turn. Colm had to try on his new gear before bedtime to show Sean.

We can walk to the library from our apartment. We can’t get a card yet because I don’t have the proper ID, so we just went and looked around. Colm saw one of his classmates there and they went on a little Valentine’s scavenger hunt that the librarians had arranged.

Our poor movers had to move everything up these stairs.

I really did have a good day today, but some things are hard to get used to. For example, today I went to go get gas. That shouldn’t be too difficult. Right? Wrong!!! I was so excited a few months back when I found out that you can’t pump your own gas here. Isn’t that great? NO, it is not. It takes FOREVER because you have to wait for the guy to come pump it for you and if the place is busy, you might be there awhile. To complicate things, the place I went to today only takes cash. So I had to run in and give the cashier my money, then she gave me a receipt that said I had paid and ONLY THEN would he pump my gas. It took me 15 minutes to do all of that.

Baseball sign-ups for this summer end on Friday. In other words, I have to get Colm signed up for baseball ASAP. I went to go get him signed up today and I need TWO forms of ID that prove that we live within a certain boundary. Really? Two? I just want to sign my kindergartner up for baseball, not apply for a passport. Since I have only lived here since late Saturday night it is pretty safe to say that I don’t have two forms of ID right now. After much pleading and cajoling I talked her down to one. Geesh!!!!

We have no furniture. None. No beds, no couches, no tables…we DO have a TV though. Liam was making due and using what blankets, pillows and soft foamy things we do have to try and get comfortable enough to watch the Superbowl.

We have been taking our animals to the same vet for 13 years. I went to high school with their son and when I told them we were moving, our vet’s wife, who also works as the office, started to cry. They gave me a hug on the day we left. I don’t think too many people can say they’ve been hugged by their vet. I will surely miss them.

As I was saying before, I didn’t exactly make it to all of the restaurants I wanted to go to before we left. This one was not on my list, but it was on Colm’s. Really, who can blame him? 🙂

Before we left, my MIL and I took the boys to see one of their great-grandmas. I love this woman. She is kind to a fault and has always treated me as one of her own even though, technically, she’s Sean’s grandma.
