Colm has wanted a party at Chuck E. Cheese for YEARS, so we finally gave in and did it. It was so much fun for the kids and the staff at Chuck E. Cheese were great.

Colm in the ticket blaster…it blows tickets around and he had a certain amout of time (30 seconds?) to stuff as many of them as he could in his shirts, in his pockets, etc. He ended the day with over 1,000 tickets.

I must say, I did a pretty good job finding things to go in the goody bags for Colm’s birthday party. We had fruit leathers, chocolate chip granola bars, Zotz, Dum Dums, birthday-theme shaped Silly Bandz, sparkly bouncy balls, glow in the dark bracelets and Cars (from the movie) pencils. Also, a little birthday party tip…so your kid doesn’t have to write a zillion thank you letters after the party…have them write a “thank you for coming to my party” type of note, make copies of it, and stick them in the goody bags. You will save yourself and your child a ton of time later on and the parents will think you are a genius for coming up with the idea. 😉

This is the project we will be sharing with the children this month. No, this looks nothing like a Pieter Bruegel painting, but the idea is to teach the children about overlapping and how overlapping helps the artist to show how objects are closer or further away.

Birthday Boy! (Project 365-4/23/11)

This is the first house we have ever lived in where the stairs are narrow enough that a Slinky will actually work! The boys were SO excited!
