The boys’ TKD school had a fundraiser for the local school district this morning. They each had the opportunity to collect pledges (either a pledge per board or a flat pledge) and then break up to ten boards. Colm broke all ten boards and he even broke two boards at once a couple of times…he thought he was pretty hot stuff. 🙂 In all, he raised over $300. Not bad. (Thanks to the grandparents for the pledges.)

I didn’t know quite what to expect when I went to this meeting. I have never been to a meeting like this before, but I thought it was important to go and at least listen since there’s a lot at stake this year…chopping the custodians and the librarians. Eeek! I am so glad I went and I wish I would have brought the boys so they could have seen and heard the emotion of those who were brave enough to get up in front of the microphone so that their side of the story could be heard. There were teachers, librarians, custodians, parents, teachers and community members who got a chance to speak tonight. It was hard not to get a little teary-eyed over the whole thing…so much at stake for both our children and those whose jobs are on the line.
There is a little girl named Sarah who is the little sister of a boy that Colm played soccer with this past fall. Her mother and I often talk at pick-up time at school and she has grown attached to me and I must admit I absolutely ADORE this little girl. She drew me a picture…I thought this was pretty good for a three-year old. 🙂

I had the best book club when we lived in Kansas and I have missed it so much, so I was very excited when I was invited to join a book club here. I went for the first time tonight and had a great time…a great discussion, a great bunch of ladies, cranberry/almond scones and wine. 🙂

Our Lenten service project…canned goods for those in need.

You can tell what sport season it is by taking a peek into the back of my car.

Getting the luggage in the car and getting ready to head home.

Our third trip to Legoland.

This was the first time we’ve been to Legoland that Colm was able to do this…the past two times he had to do the little kid version which isn’t nearly as fun. The little kid version just involves driving in circles, the big kid version involves stop signs, stop lights and lane changes.

Getting everyone within reach (including themselves) wet. Sean and I were very excited that they were old enough and tall enough to do this by themselves this year.

Liam was finally old enough this year to participate in the Lego Mindstorms class they offer at Legoland. It’s a 45 minutes class where they learn how to program their Lego robot to perform certain tasks. It was very cool and they only let Colm in for the last five minutes or so after he promised he wouldn’t touch anything.

La Jolla Beach

We took a VERY cool behind the scenes tour of Petco Park where the San Diego Padres play.

One more beach…this is in Del Mar.
