One of Colm’s new chores is making his bed each morning before school. Granted, this is not the best made bed in the world…it’s a work in progress. 😉

The church where Liam and Colm take their violin lessons is back in the woods a little bit. It always makes me feel like I am at summer camp; it even smells like summer camp. Anyways, there are spiders all over that place right now..huge webs everywhere with spiders smack dab in the middle waiting for their dinner.

My MIL, the boys and I all worked together to make the fun “BOO” craft that I saw on my new favorite craft website. I am not very crafty AT ALL, so I get very excited when I see something I think I can actually do. I think it turned out pretty cute.

I can’t believe Liam is a brown belt already! He has been doing TKD for almost two years now. He has really put a lot of effort into it and we are so proud of him.

Warming Up

(Project 365-9/23/10)
He earned enough stripes on his belt to get a trophy. They earn stripes by showing certain positive attributes at home.

We love to go to the library around here, but the last time we went we checked out WAY too many books…I think it was somewhere around 70. Yep. Clearly, we can’t read that many books so I let the boys take them all home for a day or two to see which ones they were really going to read and then I hauled all of the extras plus the ones they’ve already read back to the library today. I love books as much as the next person, but it makes me nervous having that many library books checked out all at the same time.
The boys were SO excited when they heard they were going to get to scrimmage a team made up of U11 girls. First of all, they love to scrimmage, so much more fun than boring old practice and these girls were older! Now, if I am going to be honest, I must say that I was a little worried that these 5th grade girls were going to wipe up the field with these third grade boys (and Colm who is only in first grade, but the coach lets him practice with them anyways). I am pleased to announce, however, that the boys did AWESOME and the girls only scored one goal in the last five minutes of the game. I might also add that we played on their field which is much bigger than the field the boys are used to which means A LOT more running and the goals are a lot bigger, too. I was very impressed and so were the coaches.
