Liam’s teacher is awesome in so many ways and I feel so blessed that Liam ended up in her classroom and doubly blessed that she will also be his teacher next year. But who knew that she had so many talents? 🙂

She organized a classroom party this week, which was actually like an inside classroom field day. I don’t know where she came up with so many cute games and relays, but the kids had a blast. Here she is demonstrating one of the games….not as easy as it looks.
My friend Kelli told me about this book. She really liked it and thought I might like it too. Which is funny to only her and me because we never ever like the same books unless it’s written by Jodi Picoult, which this on is not. It turns out that we both liked this book, too. This book also happens to be on our state’s battle of the books list for high school students. The book is about a high school student named Hannah who has committed suicide, but before she died, she made a set of audio tapes dedicated to the 13 people who sent her down her path of destruction. She mails the tapes to the first person she talks about on the tapes with very specific directions to keep mailing them to the next person the on the list. She has even come up with a way to make sure they get passed along even though she won’t be there to make sure it happens. This would be a great book for a book club….so much to discuss.
My brother recommended this book to me. I wasn’t interested at first because I don’t know the first thing about tennis, but then someone else mentioned what a good book they thought it was and then I saw it at the library, so….you should read it. He has led SUCH an extraordinary life which did not include a childhood at all. His dad…I don’t even know where to begin about his dad. Wow! He is a piece of work. You don’t have to know or like tennis to love this book. His is a story that will stick with you for quite some time.
