Liam has a loose tooth! Not only does he have a loose tooth, but the permanent tooth has already pushed through behind it. I called the dentist to make sure this was okay. She said not to worry. Just keep wiggling the baby tooth and the permanent one will slide right into place. Liam wanted to know today if the tooth fairy brings real money or fake money. 🙂

Colm LOVES this book and I will say it is pretty cute! It’s about a trashman and his truck and all of the places they stop to pick up the trash. They stop at the pizza parlor, the school, the doctor’s office, etc. and then they have to take it all to the dump once the truck is full. The part Colm likes the most is that at the end of each page it asks if the truck is full. For most of the pages the answer is no, until you get to the end of course. He loves looking for the word “no” and then the word “yes” once the truck is full. The ending of the book is also cute because now that the trashman has cleaned up Trashy Town he has to go home and take a bath. Colm would give it two thumbs up!

Wow! What an interesting and well-written book that looks into the lives of the working poor…the people who clean your house, who serve you your dinner at your favorite restaurant, who take care of your loved ones in nursing homes, or work at your local Wal-Mart. The author takes on various jobs such as these and lives off of her income. She has to pay rent, buy food, etc. Oftentimes, she has to take on two jobs to make it and she isn’t having to pay for childcare either and she also has a car which gives her an advantage over many in her situation. She also lives in some pretty shady places, but that is all that she can afford on what she is making. Very easy read and well worth it.

A couple of nights ago I came upstairs from the basement and smelled something foul. I accused both Sean and the dog of fouling up the air. I then smelled it again the next day. What is that smell? Is it me? Nope, it was not coming from anyBODY. This morning Liam found the source of the odor. SOMEONE, I am assuming it was Liam based on the cup it was in, had put a glass of soymilk in this little compartment that is in our china cabinet. Who knows how long it had been there, but it was STINKY! I am washing it in the dishwasher right now, but I might have to just throw it away. I don’t know if it can be saved.

We have a roof with shingles now. We also have a garage floor and a porch and they have started to do the electricity. The boys got to go in it for the first time today, too. They got to see where their rooms are going to be which they were very excited about. 🙂

My step-mom just called from Colorado to let us know that one of my younger brothers just won a MAJOR wrestling tournament and he is now on his way to Bejing, China this summer for some sort of Olympic thing. I am not sure of all of the details, but I know it is a BIG DEAL. I am so proud! Both of my younger brothers are so smart (and my older one, too!) and they have worked so hard to get where they are right now, both in school and in their wrestling. Congrats!

We went to Paradise Park today and we FINALLY got to go outside. This is the third time we have been there, but the first time it has been warm enough to actually go outside. As usual, the boys had a blast.

I got brave today and took the boys to the Nelson. There was fear and trepidation on the faces of the people who work there when they saw us walk through the doors, but the boys did pretty well. It was not a leisurely stroll through the gallery admiring all of the fine artwork while reading all of the plaques that tell all of the pertinent info, but it was still a nice little adventure. One docent asked Colm not to walk on a platform what was holding a statue, but no real harm was done. I think the worst we did was that Colm turned out the lights in one room and I couldn’t figure out how to turn them back on. Oops! The best part was Colm looking at a statue sans loincloth and asking where his diaper was. In the car home I asked them what their favorite parts were. Liam’s response was the shuttlecocks and Colm’s favorite part was riding the elevators. I would like to take them back again, only one at a time. There were too many things they each wanted to see, but they both wanted to go in different directions. It got to be a little frustrating towards the end. After all of that culture we then took a requisite trip to Winstead’s to fill up on french fries, onion rings and chocolate milkshakes.

I saw this last weekend and totally forgot about it until we drove past the same park again today. Last weekend, we were out returning something to the Apple store and we drove by the cancer survivor park in which someone was sunbathing. I was laughing so hard. (Don’t take it the wrong way. Cancer is not funny.) I wanted to go back and ask her to scoot over so I could take a picture of here near the cancer survivor sign. The irony…it was just too much.

Have you seen this movie? No matter what your thoughts or beliefs, you will find it intriguing.
