$300 Fine

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

I was driving this weekend and got stopped by a very nice policewoman who gave me a $300 ticket. I was able to go to the courthouse today get it “pardoned”. We are going to have a little contest here…can anyone guess what might have warranted a $300 ticket? I might even give out a prize if someone comes up with the right answer. 🙂

I was going to guess a school zone. But Rose (who has an attorney husband) said “Driving without proof of insurance. If you prove you had it within 10 days, it’s pardoned 🙂 .” So can I ‘ditto’ her answer. :o) Marcia

Speeding in an unmarked work zone. They double the fines there, you know.

I bet it was the insurance thing, too, but I’m trying to be creative.

You kidnapped a foreign dignitary from a diplomatic convention and were holding her for ransom but they pardoned you because she turned out to be an out of work Jazz singer from New Jersey who just wanted a nice cup of tea.

Or perhaps you didn’t have your license with you when you were stopped.

And the answer is….I couldn’t provide proof of insurance. I was driving Sean’s car. He keeps his insurance card in his wallet. I keep mine in my car, that’s a problem when you aren’t driving your car. No problem, I went to the courthouse on Monday and showed them that I do have insurance. Oh, and now I keep the insurance card with me. 🙂
